Truth

We value the truth as the revealed nature and will of God in the person of Jesus Christ.  This revealed will of God, in Christ Jesus is given to us in the written Word of God - his final revelation of truth. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Prayer

We value prayer because it is a gift from Christ and by His Spirit we are able to ‘boldly approach’ the throne room of God’s grace in prayer. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:22-23)

Fellowship

We value the fellowship with the saints because it is the goodness of the gospel that unites the hearts of one another and is an extension of his grace in our redeemed fellowship with God the Father, in Christ.. “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Worship

We value true worship because it is our right and regular response of praise and thanksgiving to the one who is worthy of all worship - Christ Jesus. Our salvation, in Christ alone, is for God's glory, which is why we worship Him and Him alone.  Therefore our worship is to be approached with reverence and fear before our Holy and Righteous God.  In our weekly gathering together and participation of worship on the Lord’s Day we devote ourselves to singing songs of praise, the public reading of Scripture, participation in the Lord’s Supper, and sitting under the preaching of the Word. It is our joy and his means of grace that we can present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.  God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24)

Marriage

We value marriage because it is a gift from God, created by God, between one man and one woman to testify and display the love of God toward us in Christ. “This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.  However, let each of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” (Ephesians 5:32-33)

Life

God is the giver, sustainer, and keeper of life, therefore we value life at all stages.  “For you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13-14)

Family

God, in his wisdom, created the family as the means of testifying to the truth of God and the means of giving thanks for the faithfulness of our God.  Therefore we value this institution as God uses fathers and mothers to bear witness in sharing the gospel of Christ to the ‘people group’ in their homes and the transmission of the knowledge of God from one generation to the next.  “And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers” (Malachi 4:6)
